A few details and any extra costs
You can manage your own domain and hosting. The £40/month website maintenance plan still applies, with a 12-month minimum from launch. We’ll agree who looks after what before work starts.
Extra pages, substantial copywriting, ecommerce, booking systems and custom functionality are quoted separately.
Your domain stays in your own name. Ownership of the completed website transfers after the initial term, subject to third-party licence restrictions.
What is the free preview?
It’s a free personalised homepage preview, not a completed five-page website. It lets you see the proposed direction for your existing site before you decide whether to proceed. You don’t have to go ahead with the refresh.
What am I committing to?
Requesting or reviewing the preview doesn’t commit you to the refresh or website maintenance plan. If you accept the offer, the refresh is £0 upfront and includes a £40/month website maintenance plan with a 12-month minimum from launch: £480 minimum total. The maintenance plan is part of this offer, not an optional extra. There’s no VAT added to the £40/month price. Website hosting and domain renewal up to £20 per year are included. Any excess domain renewal cost will be agreed with you and charged separately.
I’ll agree the scope and written terms with you before I complete the website.
When does billing start?
Monthly billing begins when your approved website launches, not when you request the preview. The 12-month minimum runs from launch.
What if I need more than five pages?
The package covers a refresh or rebuild of your existing brochure website, up to five pages, with two rounds of revisions before launch. Extra pages, substantial copywriting, ecommerce, booking systems and custom functionality are quoted separately.
Do I need to supply the words and images?
Yes. I’ll use your existing branding, images and supplied content. You’ll need permission to use anything you supply. If the words need a substantial rewrite, I can quote for that separately.
What counts as a small content change?
Things like updating opening hours, changing a phone number or swapping a supplied image. Up to 20 minutes is included each month. Unused time doesn’t roll over. If a request needs more time or changes how the site works, I’ll quote before doing extra work.
Are there any extra domain costs?
Domain renewal is included up to £20 per year. If your domain costs more to renew, I’ll agree the excess with you before charging it separately. This limit applies only to domain renewal, not website hosting.
Do I keep my domain? Can I manage my own hosting?
Your domain stays in your own name. If you’d like me to look after it, website hosting, domain settings and domain renewal up to £20 per year are included. Any excess domain renewal cost will be agreed with you and charged separately.
You can also manage your domain and hosting yourself. I’ll check your existing setup and agree who looks after what before work starts. The £40/month website maintenance plan and 12-month minimum still apply.
What does basic search setup include?
Page titles and descriptions, clear headings and a sitemap to help search engines understand your pages. I’ll also set up necessary redirects from replaced pages. This isn’t an ongoing SEO campaign, and I don’t guarantee rankings or enquiries.
Who owns the website after the initial term?
Ownership of the completed website transfers to you after the initial 12-month term, subject to third-party licence restrictions. Your domain remains in your own name throughout. I’ll explain any third-party restrictions in the written agreement.
